E-commerce Terms of Sale

By placing an order, you agree to be legally bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before
completing your purchase.

1. Structure of Contract & Made-to-Order Nature
   Trash Compactor is operated by Mark Brownlie-Scurr as a UK sole trader. Because our items are specialised physical collector pieces, the following manufacturing terms apply: Made-to-Order Production: The vast majority of items available on our website are 3D-printed and finished directly to order. Production begins only after payment confirmation is fully processed. 
    
2. Order Acceptance: 
   A legally binding contract is formed between us only when we send you a dispatch confirmation email. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order prior to dispatch due to material shortages, printing failures, pricing errors, or shipping restrictions.
    
3. Pricing, Payments & Currency
   All prices listed on the website are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP).
   We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to your total. If delivery is outside the UK, you
   are entirely responsible for any local import duties, customs fees, or regional taxes levied upon entry.
   Full payment is strictly required at the point of ordering via our secure checkout providers.
    
4. Dispatch, Production Timelines & Shipping
   Production Estimates: Because resin printing involves physical preparation, printing, post-curing, and
   manual inspection, dispatch times are estimates and not strict deadlines. We make every effort to fulfill
   orders within the estimated timeline shown on the product page.
   Shipping Failure: If a shipment is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by
   you, or due to failure to collect from a local sorting office, you will be liable for the additional postal fees
   required to re-ship the items.
    

IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE REGARDING YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL 
(UK Consumer Contracts Regulations)

• Under UK law, consumers normally have a statutory 14-day "cooling-off" period to cancel online purchases for a full refund. However, this legal right does not apply to goods that are made to the consumer’s specifications or are clearly personalised.
• Please note any custom 3D-printed items that are commistioned or personally requested and made-to-order items are produced individually for your order, you do not have an automatic right to cancel or return them simply because you changed your mind. Cancellations requested after production has physically commenced cannot be accepted.

Returns, Refunds & Faulty Goods

• While change-of-mind returns are excluded for made-to-order items, your statutory rights remain fully
  protected if your goods arrive damaged, faulty, or not as described under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
• What to do if your item arrives broken or faulty: Resin-printed collectibles and custom accessories can be delicate. If your items are damaged or broken during transit, you must notify us via email within 30 days of delivery.
• Your notice must include clear photographic evidence of the damage, including the broken items and the
  condition of the packaging.

Resolutions for Faulty Prints:

• If an item is proven to be faulty or damaged in transit, we will offer a resolution subject to the following strict conditions:
• Evidence and Verification Required: Trash Compactor is an independent, small-batch studio, not a fulfilment corporation. We do not issue refunds or replacements based on unverified text claims. To process any claim, you must provide clear photographic evidence of the damaged item, the internal packaging, and the outer shipping box within 30 days of delivery.
• Courier Claim Cooperation: Because couriers have a legal responsibility to deliver items in their original condition, we require your active assistance in lodging a damage report. We ask that you file a report with your local delivery courier (who handled the final delivery) and provide us with the reference details.
• Replacement Process: Once damage is verified and the courier claim process has been initiated with your assistance, we will fast-track a replacement print of the broken part or model and ship it to you at our expense.
• Refunds: Where a replacement is physically impossible or impractical due to material or production limitations, we will issue a full or partial refund for the affected item back to your original payment method.
• Unauthorised Returns: Please do not mail items back to us without contacting us first to receive an authorised return reference. Unsolicited returns will not be processed.

Product Characteristics & Material Warning

• By purchasing from Trash Compactor, you acknowledge and accept the specific nature of resin 3D-printed
  models:
• Minor Variations: Custom 3D prints may exhibit minor physical characteristics native to the production
  process, such as faint layer lines, tiny marks where support structures were detached, or microscopic
  cosmetic variances.
• These are completely normal characteristics of resin production and are not
  considered manufacturing defects.
   

Safety & Usage Warning

• All figures, miniatures, and custom resin kits sold on this website are designed strictly as adult collector display pieces. They are not toys, are not safety-tested for children, and may contain small or sharp parts that present severe choking hazards.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

• These Terms of Sale and any disputes arising directly from your purchases are governed entirely by the laws
  of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any claims.
